OP ART

Op art, short for optical art, is a style of visual art that uses optical illusions. Op art works are abstract, with many better known pieces created in black and white. Typically, they give the viewer the impression of movement, hidden images, flashing and vibrating patterns, or of swelling or warping. Some of the most notable artists are Bridget Riley, Joseph Albers, Victor Vasarely and Richard Allen.

Victor Vasarely

Victor Vasarely was one of the most important Op Art artists. He explored both abstract art and figurative art with his animal paintings.

Akiyoshi Kitaoka

Akiyoshi Kitaoka is a Japanese artist who has mastered the effect of illusory motion caused by color contrast and shape position. Just remember these are non-moving images. Your brain creates the motion. So cool.
