Pattern Monster Lesson

You will examine shape, pattern and color to create an imaginative drawing featuring a pattern monster. You will use pencils, sharpie and watercolor. Middle school art students are then going to use your pattern monsters to create fabric versions which will be given to you at the end of May.

Materials:

  • white paper

  • pencil

  • sharpie

  • watercolor paint

Where the Wild Things Are read aloud.

This famous kids book by Maurice Sendak is the best kids book about monsters ever. I’m sure you have all read it , but this time try to concentrate on how the monsters are drawn. Ready!
